22 April 2021: Nino Grillo (York U), “Local and Universal: On the interaction of universal parsing principles and grammatical variation.”

Abstract

In this talk, I will discuss the role of sophisticated linguistic analysis for research in Psycholinguistics. Drawing on experimental results from Italian, Greek, English, French, Spanish and European Portuguese I will show how grammatical distinction which appear subtle at first sight can be used to provide a unified analysis of a number of problematic data from the psycholinguistics literature.
